SPITI VALLEY: – Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalayas in the north-eastern part of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is located in the rain shadow region of the Greater Himalayan ranges. The name “Spiti” means “The middle land”, i.e., the land between Tibet and India. Tour Itinerary

  • Arrival at Chandigarh (The City of Beauty) Airport/Railway Station by morning meet our representative and travel to Shimla (Summer Capital of British India). Till evening you will reach Shimla then check in to the hotel and take some rest after that dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
  • On the way if you have enough time that you can visit famous Yadavindra Garden, Pinjore(Panchkula). Pinjore Gardens (also known as Pinjor Gardens or Yadavindra Gardens) is located in Pinjore, Panchkula district in the Indian state of Haryana. It is an example of the Mughal Gardens style, and was built by Patiala Dynasty Rulers.The garden is in the village of Pinjore lie 22 km from Chandigarh on the Ambala-Shimla road.

Shimla: Shimla (2,276 mts) is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, in the Himalayan foothills. Once the summer capital of British India, it remains the terminus of the narrow – gauge Kalka-Shimla Railway, completed in 1903. It’s also known for the handicraft shops that line the specializing in wooden toys and crafts.

  • After Breakfast check out from hotel and Drive to Sangla through the thick woods of Narkanda and alongside the River Sutlej. If you reach Tapri at lunch time then don’t forgot to have food at Kangri dhaba. . Embark on a scenic road journey, immersing yourself in the unbinding beauty of the Kinnaur Valley.
  • On the way you can enjoy beautiful lake hydro project at Karcham dam. Enjoy the evening in beautiful surroundings in the river valley of Baspa at a height of 9000ft.

  • After Breakfast, explore the vicinity around including an ancient Kamru Fort & Temple dedicated to the Goddess Kamakhya Devi which was brought from Assam & Nages God.
  • Post Lunch, Excursion to Chitkul – a last Village on Old Indo – Tibetan Trade Route. Walk through green orchards & brilliant stream. In the evening reach and Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel.

Baspa Valley (3,450 Mts):This is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Himalayas and is often compared to the famous valley of Kashmir known for its rich Kinnauri culture and apple orchards, this valley was opened for tourists only in 1993 for its close proximity to the Tibetan border.

  • After B/F, check-out from the Hotel & drive to Kalpa – District Headquarter of Kinnar & once a favourite haunt of Lord Dalhousie. It is said that as & when Lord Dalhousie wanted to take a break from his hectic schedule in Shimla, he would come here on his Horseback.
  • Post Lunch rest in Hotel & in evening visit to Suicide Point And Roghi Village (beautiful village in kalpa). Spend the night in the beautiful Kalpa village from where you can spot the stunning Kinnaur Kailash Mountains Dinner and overnight in the Hotel in Kalpa.

Kalpa (2,960 mts/9,711 Feet): was known as Chini back in the days when it was the Regional Capital. Kalpa, a small & charming town located on the banks of Sutlej River. Kalpa has changed little in the last 500 years. Each & every corner of Kalpa facing Jorkanden & the Kinner Kailash Peaks, considered as one of the mythical homes of Lord Shiva & by its side is a 79 foot rock formation that resembles a Shivlinga that changes the colour as the day passes & is visible to the naked eye on a clear day.

  • After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Tabo. En route, you will be taking the Indo-Tibet Highway and pass through the Khab bridge that marks the confluence of Spiti and the Satluj River (Khab Sangam). Further proceed to Tabo.
  • Then On the way visit Geu village & Monastery where the 500 yrs old mummy of Tibetan monk has been displayed. Evening Reach at hotel ,Dinner &  overnight at Tabo.

Nako: (3,625mts/11,893ft): The Nako Village is located between Kinnaur and Spiti Valley Nako is a mesmerising and picturesque village that is full of eye capturing surroundings and is the most significant village situated in the Kinnaur district of the Himachal Pradesh. The village also offers the visitors with multiple sightseeing options such as the famous Nako Lake, Buddhist Temples and Rakham amongst others. Near the lake, one can also find the footprints of the saint Padmasambhava, who is believed to have meditated at the spot for many years.

  • After breakfast check out from hotel and you will visit Tabo Monastery. Then visit Tabo Caves: Next to the main road, NH- 22 in Tabo, on the northern side, just opposite to the village, there is a rising hill containing caves. Then we will leave for Kaza before that we can stop at Dhankar. Dhankar Monastery (Dhankar Gompa is a village and also a Gompa, a Buddhist temple in the district of Lahaul and Spiti in India. It is situated at an elevation of 3,894 metres in the Spiti Valley above Dhankar Village, between the towns of Kaza and Tabo)
  • Continue drive to Kaza, on arrival check in at Hotel. Dinner & overnight at Kaza.

Tabo:(3,280mts/10,760ft): Tabo is famous for the Tabo Monastery which is known as “AJANTA OF THE HIMALAYAS”. Tabo Monastery which is the oldest continuously operating Buddhist enclave in both India and the Himalayas.Tabo Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries located in the Tabo Village of Spiti Valley. In fact, it is the oldest monastery in India and the Himalayas that has been functioning continuously since its inception. This alluring monastery is renowned as the ‘Ajanta of the Himalayas’..

  • After breakfast will do full day excursion to Ki, Kibber, Chicham Bridge, Hikkim, Komic & Langza village. While driving back to Kaza will stop at Kye Monastery.
  • You will then head towards the Langza Village followed by Hikkim, having the highest post office in the world. You will then head towards Komik, Asia’s highest Village. Later, return to your hotel / homestay for an Dinner & overnight at Kaza.

Key Monastery (13,668ft/4,166mts): The learning centre of Buddhism. Housing ancient murals and weapons. Begin the tour by visiting the Key Monastery having an ancient collection of murals and weapons.
Chicham Bridge(13596ft/4145Mts): Kibber Village and Chicham Village are linked by Asia’s highest bridge called Chicham Bridge. The 113.83 metre long bridge is located above the Samba Lamba Nallah, a 1000 ft deep gorge. It connects the villages of Kibber and Losar, helping reduce the journey between them by around 40 km.

Langza (14,500 ft/4,420): situated at a whopping height of about 14,500 ft. above sea level and also considered to be one of the highest villages in the world with a motorable road.

Hikkim(14,570ft/4,440mts/): one of the highest year-round inhabited locations in India and housing the highest post office in the world.

Komik Village(15,049fts/4589mts: which is Asia’s highest Village Komic village is a very beautiful place and a heaven for nature and peace lovers.

After early breakfast start drive to Chandertal, enroute will cross Kunzum La. You will embark on a journey through the scenic road surrounded by the mighty Himalayas.

After crossing the Kunzum La Pass (4,551mts/14,930), you will take a right, 4 km before Batal to reach the location. You will then reach the gorgeous crescent-shaped Chandratal Lake which changes color throughout the day. Have an overnight stay in a camp beside the lake.

Kunzum La pass: Navigate through the challenging yet rewarding Kunzum La pass, (4,551mts/14,930), relishing the panoramic views of towering peaks.

Chandratal Lake: The lake is situated in the Spiti part of the Lahaul and Spiti district and is also called the “Moon Lake” due to its crescent shape. It is overlooked by the mountains on one side and a cirque on the other. After the sunset, the lake glitters under the starlit sky adding to its overall charm. Marvel at the changing colors of the Chandratal Lake throughout the day. If you are lucky enough, you can also catch the sight of the milky way galaxy.

  • Check-out from your camps and meet the driver who will pick you up and take you to Manali. You will pass by the remarkable Atal Tunnel via Sissu while taking in the amazing views of the Himalayan Range.
  • After reaching Manali, check-in to your hotel and rest for sometime. You can explore the nearby Mall Road or pay a visit to the sacred Hadimba Devi Temple. Have an dinner & overnight stay in Manali.

Atal Tunnel: has officially been certified by World Book of Records, as the ‘World’s Longest Highway Tunnel above 10,000 Feet’, during a landmark ceremony on 09 February 2022, in New Delhi. The tunnel is the world’s longest one above 10,000 feet and is constructed in the Pir Panjal ranges, under the Rohtang Pass. It is an all-weather tunnel that has made possible the entry into the valley, which is usually landlocked during the winter months. The tunnel’s North End brings visitors into Sissu, which is surrounded by high peaks.
